A Dangerous Liason with Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips
Whilst on a recent blog trip to London I took on a mission: to find the Charlotte Tilbury flagship store in London and acquire one of their infamous Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips liquid lipsticks. I’m a huge fan of the glamour of the Golden Age of Hollywood, and in particular of the old school James Bond films. The Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipstick in ‘Bond Girl’ has been my signature lipstick for years; apart from my obvious attraction to the name, I just love the dark berry red which is so perfect at this time of year.
This time, however, I had set my sights on a different berry lip product: Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips liquid lipstick in ‘Dangerous Liason’, £24. I love a matte lip and am a recent convert to the liquid lipsticks as I love that they stay put for most of the day. Dangerous Liason is a perfect everyday berry lip shade but with a touch more drama than your average nude. Most liquid lipsticks are a little drying on the lips, and the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips is much kinder, though perhaps takes a little longer to dry and set and isn’t quite as invincible as other liquid lipstick brands. That said, it lasts through dinner and drinks without needing topping up, though it does leave a little trace on your glass so you can leave them guessing as you disappear into the night…
I also picked up a Lip Cheat lip pencil in Savage Rose. This colour perfectly complements both Dangerous Liason and Bond Girl, to help get an enhanced, glamorous shape. It also helps with the application and prevents bleeding throughout the day; I would definitely recommend buying the liner to match. I always think that being able to draw on my desired lip shape before applying lipstick makes such a difference to my entire makeup look and always helps me feel ‘put together’. The words ‘Give a girl the right lipstick and she can conquer the world’ are written above the door in the store; whilst I can damn well conquer the world without lipstick, wearing it makes the process a whole lot more fun 😉
The Charlotte Tilbury flagship store was a makeup lover’s dream! I loved the vintage styling and the glamour of the make-over area downstairs, with scalloped mirrors and a wall of icons. The whole place could have been the dressing room of a Hollywood diva or a Burlesque queen, right up my street! If you’re ever in London I would definitely recommend a visit!
Have you tried the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Lips lipsticks? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
